Chapter-15
The Painting
After a long day doing nothing but keeping a check onto them. I am here, serving the dinner while shouting and calling Jungkook, who didn't respond yet. I let out a sigh, "He has eaten my brain." It has been half an hour since Jungkook returned from his work, and he is already annoying me.
I looked at the staircase, just not to find Jungkook, but Taehyung. "Why are you here?" "I was bored in there.", he said. He knows that he is not allowed to walk, yet still, his boredom forces him to do things.
Jungkook popped out from behind, cooing at us. "See my sister, taking care of her hubby." "So what should I do? Hit him? You were worth it, not him.", I huffed out in anger. "Why are you so angry with me? I am just a handsome man.", he cooed out. I shoot death glares at him. "Don't cross the limits, or you know what I can do." I nodded, agreeing with Taehyung's words.
"Your husband is threatening me and you're laughing?!" I pressed my lips together, nodding at him. "I thought I will be safe if I let you marry him." Jungkook scoffed. "I won't talk to you.", he added. "Fine, I'll be in peace for a while." Jungkook glared at me, "I am serious." "Fine, sorry.", I rolled my eyes.
"Also, did mom inform you?", he asked. "Inform, what?", I asked. "She is coming here after a few days." I frowned, "Why?" "She said that she is missing you, so she wants to meet you." I miss her too. It's been a long time since I last saw her.
"Mom is coming here too.", I looked at Taehyung. "Both of them will come here?", I asked. "Yes.", said Taehyung. It was clear that our moms were upto something. We exchanged stares, just to talk with eyes. I know my mom really well, she has to do something when she tells me some sweet words.
"I'll be living here, too." Said Jungkook, getting Taehyung choked onto his food. Taehyung coughed loudly, I hurried up to fetch a glass of water and handed it over to him. Jungkook shot glares at Taehyung, "Why did you choke on the food?" "You're living here, too?! Why?!", Taehyung grunted. "Why? I'm like your brother, can't I stay over?", Jungkook arched his eyebrows at Taehyung.
"You know how much trouble you cause?", Taehyung huffed. "I do not cause any trouble.", Jungkook scoffed. "As if." I couldn't help but to burst out into fits of laughter. Jungkook snapped his gaze at me, glaring at me. "You are laughing? At me? Isn't it unfair that you laugh at your own brother?!" I laughed harder at his words, just to receive judging gazes from him.
"You aren't my sister now? You're his wife, Kim Y/n?" I nodded. "What did you do to her? Why isn't she supporting me?", Jungkook gave a grated look to Taehyung. "Your sister is smart, that's all.", Taehyung shrugged. Jungkook huffed, raising up from his seat, leaving us alone. "Enjoy! I will be leaving soon!", he shouted, without even turning to us, just walking away.
"He is so childish.", Taehyung spatted. I stared at Jungkook's back, walking away with tensed shoulders. I did feel bad. I looked at his plate, it was half eaten. I sighed, "He didn't even eat." Taehyung scoffed, "I will not let him be like this. His dad needs to know it all.", Taehyung kept on bragging. Yet me, I was pitying Jungkook.
But of course, he is my brother, and he won't be mad for a long time.

It was the time to sleep, yet I was excited for something. The painting I had in my arms. The huge canvas I painted for two weeks. Taehyung was in our room, and I decided to hang it on the wall without him knowing. I sneaked to the other side of the passage, there comes the end.
I picked up the heavy canvas, hanging it up on the wall. And I loved how it gave some colours to the empty wall. I picked up the wooden frame, bordering the canvas with it. I took steps away from the canvas, standing at a distance. The corner of my lips curved up into a delightful smile, as I averted my gaze at every feature of the painting.
"Y/n?" I snapped at Taehyung, who just stepped in. His eyes grew wide, with his eyebrows arching up. He didn't speak further, and just stared at the painting. I felt extremely nervous. What will he say? Is it good? Did I meet his expectations? Who she was? All the thoughts roamed in my mind, yet I kept quiet. "Daebak." I exhaled out some breath that I didn't know I was holding onto.
I watched him step towards the painting, with his eyes brimming with wonders of stars. "Just like I wanted it." I don't know why, but I felt like crying. Crying in victory. I felt like I achieved something big, bigger than my other achievements. "Red sleeveless gown, long open hair, red cheeks, red lips, walking forward, while looking back at something. Just like I wanted it to be." He turned to me, pulling me into a hug.
"Thanks a lot." He wrapped his hands around me, so did I. "Why? It is not like you wanted a painting here, you gave me the idea. I should be grateful, instead.", I whispered, just to hear him chuckle. "You don't know what you did." I frowned at his words, "Wh-" I stopped when I heard a loud gasp from the other side. Snapping my gaze at the same direction, I saw Jungkook looking at the painting with his eyes wide open and jaw dropped.
"Hyung, she-" "Shut up, Jungkook.", Taehyung glared at Jungkook, who locked his mouth. Jungkook walked to us, lingering his hands around Taehyung's shoulders. "She is beautiful, isn't she, hyung?" "Yes.", Taehyung looked back at the painting. "Better than the real one.", Jungkook wiggled his eyebrows. "No.", Taehyung shook his head in disapproval. "Real one? What do you mean?" I watched them both panic and exchange gazes. "I mean, better than any woman in real life." I felt myself get upset at his words, looking at Taehyung with an angry frown.
"Who is prettier than her for you?" Unconsciously, my mouth spatting words anxiously. "Wh-What?", Taehyung looked pretty addled. "Oh come on, he means ladies are pretty, including every female, you too.", Jungkook smiled at me, then looking at Taehyung who sighed in relief.
"It is true, though." Every woman in this world is so pretty. In fact, every human. God created every each of us with so many efforts, yet some of us consider ourselves ugly, not worthy. Just look at god, who wants us to cherish ourselves the way we are, but, he is disappointed in us. We are not cherishing ourselves.
After two or three minutes being in my own world, I finally snapped out. Jungkook was staring at Taehyung, while Taehyung was busy adoring the painting. I knew something there is, that they are hiding from me. I wanted to know it, eagerly. I wrapped my fingers around Jungkook's wrist, dragging him aggressively into his room.
"Wh-" I shushed him. He frowned, "What do you want?" I closed the door from behind. "I swear if you didn't answer honestly, I will kill you.", I held onto his collar. "What?!" "Now, tell me. Who is that lady?" He backs off at my words, and it got me clear that there IS something they have been hiding from me.
"Is she Taehyung's ex who he still loves?" He let out a laugh at my words. "Do you think that weirdo will actually have a girlfriend?", he asks. "He is not weird, though.", I opposed. "Careful, he is using his magic to make you fall for him.", he flicks my forehead. "Jungkook, I didn't drag you till here just to joke around. I need answers, with honesty!"
"Fine. She does exist in real life, but isn't Taehyung's ex. Taehyung has been in relationships before, but none of his ex has to do anything with that painting. Also, I really wanted to tell you about that lady but I cannot. Taehyung is the only one who will tell you about her. Why she is in red, what she has to do with Taehyung, why Taehyung told you to paint her. All of it, Taehyung will answer. And trust me, the wait will be worth it. "
With that, Jungkook managed to be free out of my grasp. "I promise you, the lady in that painting is not your enemy, in fact, it is someone you know better than Taehyung."
Worth it, the same thing Taehyung told me. Not his ex, not my enemy, not someone I am unknown to, then who is she?
"By the way, I am still mad at you.", Jungkook drew my attention. "You are? Fine, pack your stuff and move out." I walked past him, leaving him dumbfounded. "Seriously?! You are not my sister! And I will not leave this house this soon!"
I minded those words the least, and jambled out of the room with my mind stuffed with frustration and confusion....
